Senior Researcher, GRADE
Ricardo Fort is an Economist with a PhD in Economic Development from Wageningen University in Holland and a Master’s Degree in Agricultural and Applied Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the US. During the last years he has alternated his research work with a direct participation as a public servant in various governmental institutions.
He is currently a Senior Researcher at the Group for the Analysis of Development-GRADE in Lima-Peru, where he undertakes projects related to both Rural and Urban Development issues. Within the latest, his most recent project studies the process of informal settlements formation in Lima and Dar es Salaam, and takes a bottom-up community empowerment approach using tech-innovation solutions for a market based development of more safe and inclusive neighbourhoods.
