Research Associate, African Leadership Centre
Alfred Muteru has a decade-long professional experience in Research and Communication in the field of Peace and Security in Africa focusing on the great lakes conflict systems. In the last three years he has been based at the African Leadership Centre as a Research Coordinator as well as a Technical Editor for the ALC Pan-African Radio.
He has previously worked for global and the regional think tanks, including: the Institute for Security Studies and the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights (KNCHR) where he has mainly concentrated in assessing conflict amongst nomadic and borderland communities in the wider Eastern Africa countries and documenting violence linked to electoral processes and organised crime networks in Kenya. His academic qualifications are: Conflict, Security and Development (MA), Media and Communications (BA).
